![]() The New Inky Nail Polish Trendby Valerie Gladstone — September 10, 2007If you're one of those women who tired of red and pink nails a long time ago, you'll probably go for the new sophisticated polish shades, which are a lot more subtle than black. Deep purples, blues, and burgundies, they add real glamour to whatever you wear. Some Favorites Chanel le Vernis Nail Colour in Tulipe Noire--A shimmery garnet with a brilliant luster ($19 at www.chanel.com or www.sephora.com).
What people are saying...
I love my new purply-blue nails on my toes...so maybe I'll try my hands..but I am old fashioned and usually prefer clear polish up there! I have never tried my purply blue polish on my fnger nails..but love it on my toes!! I usually just use clear polish on fingers but will try a darker shade next time I get a manicure. I had never thought of using anything but clear polish on my finger nails. Generally I use colors only on my toes..but I tried out some purply blue on my fingernails and got several favorable comments! Traditionally I have used fun colors on my toenails but never on my fingernails. But I tried out some shimmery purple and had many favorable comments over the weekend! I'm with Bea. I love an inky blue nail enamel on my toes. On my fingernails, not so much. But I can understand the appeal. And so can guys who preferred Veronica to Betty in the Archie comics! janet and bea, what brands of nailpolish are you using? or does it matter? I use Sally Hanson cause it's so affordable. I think the color (it's at home not here) is midnight blue. great. i'm out the door to get a bottle. Comment on this Post
