Cat Got Your...Eye?

by WiredBerries Editors — April 10, 2008

Admit it, you've secretly - or openly - wanted to try out the cat eye but have been too afraid. This classic look has been worn by everyone from Sophia Loren to Angelina Jolie, and has apparently made its way back for Spring. To avoid looking like a cartoon character, consider these tips for the perfect cat eyes:

  • With a short-tipped brush liquid liner or pot liner, barely touch the pen to your lashline, starting at the inner corner of your eye. Slowly drag the brush to the outer corner (try to keep it close to the lashline). This whole process works a lot better if you can manage to keep both eyes open as you apply.
  • To add the flipped-up wing past the outer corner of you eye, flick your wrist toward your temple. Don't worry if the line is too long, it's easy to remove any extra.
  • Repeat on the other side, working carefully to ensure that the wings are even. If you look at yourself straight-faced in the mirror and the wings are uneven, use a q-tip to even out the flip.
