Scrub Away Cellulite?

by WiredBerries Editors — May 28, 2008

If those dimples would just wash away...Alright, so it's not quite that easy, but you can help fight cellulite and look more radiant and healthy just by exfoliating. When you remove the top layer of epidermal cells, skin will appear more smooth and less wrinkly. Every 3 weeks or so, new skin cells push up toward the surface from the lower epidermal layer. These newer skin cells let moisture soak in more easily, leaving plump, fresh skin. You can aid this process by helping the dead skin move along:

  • Before you shower, brush off dry skin with a loofah or body brush.
  • After you get wet, scrub your body using gentle circular motions with an exfoliating cleanser applied to your loofah or brush. Use separate exfoliating agents for your body and face, and use a wash cloth rather than a rougher surface to clear away facial dead skin cells.
  • Before you are totally dry, apply moisturizer to your newly buffed bod.

A beauty tip from the gorgeous women of Brazil: Next time you're on the beach, exfoliate and tone your skin by rubbing wet sand on your legs and bum. In addition to feeling great, it gives you soft silky skin and is said to help fight cellulite. Who can argue with all those glowing ladies?

What people are saying...

Great advice! Thank you!
I know that massage and scrubs work pretty well for cellulite affected areas, but never thought of sand :)
