![]() How Old Is Too Old?by Benjamin Todd — December 31, 2007So she's hasn't made me feel old yet. In fact, she's done the opposite. Her youthful optimism and energetic lifestyle make me feel young(er) and I can't get enough of her. Like I said in my blog about different travel styles, I like to stay on the move, and now I've found someone who moves so much she makes me feel out of shape. It's actually pretty nice being around someone whose manic impatience turns into my productivity and motivation. I can honestly say that in a day spent with her I get more done than I would in a week on my own. But still the age questions persist. The thought that I was graduating high school when she was graduating elementary school is kinda creepy. The fact that she's younger than most of my friend's siblings who had always been "too young" growing up makes me really uncomfortable. And the jokes and comments from my friends about robbing the cradle don't do much to boost my confidence. But, at the end of the day, when I talk to her, most of those questions and doubts go away. It's when she isn't around that I worry I'm doing something wrong. She hasn't done or said anything yet to make me feel like a pervert. She hasn't called me "grandpa" yet, and hasn't mistaken merlot for chardonnay. Is it possible she's more mature than I am? I reread my own writing and it seems a lot like I'm the only one who would see a problem with what I'm doing; well, me and myself from 10 years ago. But still, the age thing will continue to bother me for the time being, even if she continues to act my age. Read all of Benjamin Todd's posts to The Dating Life. Comment on this Post
