Moonalice "Blink of an Eye"

A perfect track to start the week: the lyrics of "Blink of an Eye" ponder the mystery of the cosmos and the nature of life, love, and, I suspect, unexpected tragedy. Moonalice, a new San Francisco-based group formed by Ann and Roger McNamee, who were formerly with the Other Flying Brothers Indie rock group. Ann McNamee is reminiscent of the early Annie Lennox, especially a Paler Shade of Pale (and also brings to mind Sting's "Fragile"--see below). The poignant beauty of the lyrics burns an image in your brain: "The southern cross shines distant/Peekin' in the night/Constellations burning beckoning life/Trouble above/ Darkness Falls/Orion is broken/The eagle is lost/Stars fall from the Sky/Life is changed/Rearranged/ In the blink of an eye." I have a hunch you'll love this debut as much as I did.
