The World's Next Pavarotti Discovered

by Gwen McManus — June 18, 2007

Whatever you do, don't miss this extraordinary YouTube debut of Paul Potts, a cell-phone salesman who tackles Pavarotti's signature aria, "Nessun Dorma," from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot. The aria, whose title translates from Italian as "Let no one sleep," follows the proclamation by the Princess Turandot that no one shall sleep: all her subjects shall spend the night attempting to find out the secret name of the unknown prince, Calaf, who has sought her hand in marriage.

It looks as though the world has found its next Pavarotti, an unknown prince! Enjoy...
