Can You Drink Your Fruit?

  • Ask Questions—Do drinks use syrup or freshly squeezed fruit? If it's not fresh squeeze, ask for half the flavoring
  • Choose Wisely—Avoid mojitos and other sugar-heavy drinks. Instead, stick to fizzy, lighter spritzers and accent with fresh fruit slices.
  • Learn to Count—Keep tabs on your sips. Every drink is different, but calorie counts average 150 to 200 a glass.
  • Intrigued? The New York Times tackles the issue as well, noting that bartenders from New York to LA are increasingly mixing up organic, vitamin-filled drinks.
