Diet Red Flags

by Valerie Nahmad — August 9, 2007

The diet universe seems to multiply overnight. There are diets for planners, diets for fast-food lovers, diets for masochists (hello cabbage soup), diets for indulgers (cookie diet!?!). It can all get a little overwhelming. Fit Sugar clears up some of the mystery with five warning sides of a bad diet. Some are a bit obvious, but it never hurts to be thorough. Run, don't walk, from your diet if:

  • It doesn't promote variety
  • It doesn't promote healthy eating and exercise
  • It doesn't allow you to eat solid foods
  • It requires that you buy special pills or supplements
  • It promises rapid or unbelievable results (20 pounds in two weeks!)
