Every Step You Take

by WiredBerries Editors — March 21, 2008

You've heard it before, but it's worth repeating to yourself throughout the day -- the little things, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, can seriously make a big difference in your fitness. For inspirational small steps, check out HealthierUS.gov:

  • Walk to work.
  • Walk during lunch hour.
  • Walk instead of driving whenever you can.
  • Take a family walk after dinner.
  • Get a dog and walk it.
  • Replace Sunday drive with Sunday walk.
  • Get off a stop early & walk.
  • Go for a half-hour walk instead of watching TV.
  • Make a Saturday morning walk a group habit.
  • Park farther from destination and walk.
  • When walking, go up the hills instead of around them.

Add a couple of these to your routine, and you'll be fit in no time!
