![]() Turn It Upby WiredBerries Editors — March 10, 2008I'm kinda picky about music and exercise. I like to let my mind escape through the tunes when I'm treading away at the treadmill or elliptical but prefer to hear the sound of my breath and the crunch of dirt under my feet when I run outdoors. I guess I perceive outdoor exercise as a fun outlet for my ancy energy so I don't need the music. Turns out that listening to tunes while you exercise could help you stay motivated to get out there again. An article in Journal of Sport Behavior found that motivational music affected an individual's intention to exercise. The idea is that listening to songs that get you fired up helps you have positive associations with the experience and you will therefore want to do it again. So turn up "I Need a Hero" and have a fantastic workout! Comment on this Post
