![]() Bars in Review: Chocolate Caramel Crispby Christina Ranon — August 17, 2008Balance Bar: Chocolate Caramel Crisp This is a chocolate-covered bar that is the smallest by volume (although it's the same weight as the Pria bar) and lowest in calories. It was about an hour before I started to feel hungry again. It's not too sweet (it has the lowest amount of sugar after the Think Thin bar) and has a thin top layer of caramel and a thicker bottom layer of crisped rice. The crisped rice part has a tough chew and a harder consistency than the other crisped rice bars. It seemed like the rice crisps were more tightly packed in this one than in the others. The caramel is not too sticky and has a good consistency, but tastes slightly salty. I enjoyed the first few bites but after that I noticed that the entire bar tastes saltier than I would prefer for a mid-morning snack. This might be better eaten after a workout, when you appreciate salt more. Nutrition facts: Comment on this Post
