![]() More Strength Training and Home Exercisesby Laurel Reckert — November 17, 2008How are you doing with the strength training exercises from two weeks ago? Are you finding by adding the exercise ball and stability disc that you're working on more muscles than just the ones isolated by the weights? I hope that by engaging your core while weight lifting is not only interesting but also multi-tasking your workout. While weight training it is just as important to schedule your down time as it is your training time. Allow at least 48 hours between workouts for sufficient recovery. By adding weights to exercise you're actually tearing muscle fibers to increase mass. The body needs time to repair those tears before more tears can be effective. While you are working out be sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks between exercises. Rotate your exercises rather than repeating many sets of the same one. This, too, will also allow some muscular recovery. This week I offer some more strength training exercises and other things you can do at home. Comment on this Post
