![]() The Telltale Signs That You're About to Get Dumpedby WiredBerries Editors — September 12, 2007Perhaps you or someone you know is in denial about a relationship--forward on this list as a subtle way to help her get a clue. Relationship expert Elina Furman, author of Kiss and Run: The Single, Picky, and Indecisive Girl's Guide to Overcoming Her Fear of Commitment, shares the signs of an impending break-up: 1. Picking fights. No one gets along 24/7. But if you find that your partner has become argumentative over petty issues like your clothes or friends, he/she may be looking for an excuse to bail. 2. Forgetting to call. Your sweetie used to call all day long wanting to make plans or just to say, "I love you." Now he doesn't even call if he's running 3 hours late, which could be a sign that your relationship has reached its expiration date. 3. A brand new look. A major overhaul in appearance can sometimes be a sign that your partner is looking for greener pastures. Are they suddenly losing a lot of weight, getting cosmetic surgery, or getting a whole new wardrobe? Nothing is wrong with wanting to look good, but if a dramatic change is accompanied by other tell-tale signs--you may soon be solo. 4. More criticisms than compliments. If your honey isn't feeling it anymore, don't be shocked if he suddenly stops being charmed by your quirks. Although all relationships have their ups and downs--constant criticism could mean your days as a twosome are numbered. (Besides, if you're constantly getting criticized, you might want to consider bailing first.) 5. Losing physical interest. If you find that your partner is no longer interested in getting close to you physically (or maybe never was), something could be amiss. Remember, there are just some common warning signs. Just because your partner exhibits some of these behaviors, doesn't automatically mean the relationship is over. It's usually a combination of signs--not one isolated incident--that foretells a breakup. Comment on this Post
