Hangover Cure?

by WiredBerries Editors — October 4, 2007

You had a rough day, met the girls for a happy hour cocktail which turned into a night of release, and you're now laying in bed dumbfounded by the pain in your head caused be the ringing of the alarm. According to a recent article on hangovers; they are a common problem in America: 77% have one at least once a year and 15% get them at least monthly. But there's hope! The research in the latest Archives of Internal Medicine shows Hangover Prevention Formula is effective in staving off some hangover symptoms.

In the name of science, 70 medical students got drunk twice for the experiment. On one occasion they got the Hangover Prevention Formula, a dietary supplement that claims to ease the pain of the next morning, and on another occasion they got a dummy placebo pill. They were then asked to report their symptoms the morning after drinking. Of nine symptoms studied, three--nausea, dry mouth, and loss of appetite--were significantly lessened by the supplement. There was a slight lessening of other symptoms but this was not statistically significant.

The best way to cure a hangover is to avoid one altogether by drinking responsibly. But on those occasions when you enjoyed one glass of red wine too many, there might be a way to lighten the suffering.
