Relax While You Fly?

by WiredBerries Editors — January 22, 2008

Air travel has become a headache to endure on the way to your destination. Rather than just survive, why not make the trip an opportunity for forced relaxation? Don't focus on the vocal 2-year-old across the aisle and ignore the unidentifiable meal offered by the airline, and consider these tips for making the trip a time to relax and indulge:

  • Bring a treat - Stash a piece of good dark chocolate or a couple of handfuls of mixed nuts to enjoy mid-flight.
  • Zone out - Pack a pair of good headphones and download some relaxing tunes or a meditation to take your mind to a zen place.
  • Catch up - Bring along a library of magazines that you don't normally read (gossip mags, a good literary mag, or one of those really thick fashion tomes) and enjoy the time to sit and flip.
  • Drink up - Buy a bottle of water to sip on the plane. You can bring along a couple of Emergen-Cs to turn your drink into a fizzy vitamin-packed elixir.

You'll arrive feeling relaxed and refreshed - ready for a business meeting or a relaxing day at the beach. Bon voyage!
