A Bit of Good Luck to Ya

by WiredBerries Editors — March 17, 2008

St. Patrick's Day is steeped in tradition and offers a chance to gain a little good luck, a bit of a blessing, and some nutrition to offset the effects of all that green beer. For good luck, look for a four-leafed clover, wear green, or, if you have the chance, kiss the Blarney stone. If you're nowhere near the lucky stone, an Irish blessing offers a bit of good fortune to those you love:

May you always have...
Walls for the winds
A roof for the rain
Tea beside the fire
Laughter to cheer you
Those you love near you
And all your heart might desire.

And just to ensure your good health, partake of a bit of a traditional Irish meal, which includes cabbage. Cabbage ranks right up there with broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts with a reputation for fighting cancer and being a good source of Vitamin C, fiber, potassium, and other nutrients.
