A Touch of the Trends

by Maria F. Aldana — April 26, 2008

Every season, fashions change, but rather than be a slave to the trends, have fun with fashion! The key is to dress in what you feel comfortable and what makes you feel good. I tend to pick out what I wear depending on how I feel in the morning. Then highlight your personal style with a few pieces from the latest fashion mags:

  • Floral prints are in this season; flowers are eye catching on long flowing dresses, skirts, and paired with solid-colored leggings.
  • If you aren't into flowers, stripes in black, red, navy, and white reflect maritime moments. Navy and white stripes are classic, while red adds a youthful touch.
  • Bold colors such as yellow, orange, turquoise, and fuchsia work well throughout the day and night. Beiges and pale pinks are alternatives if bold is not in your color palette.
  • Gladiator sandals are comfortable and can be paired with asymmetric Cleopatra-style dresses.
  • The safari look seems to always be around and is a comfortable way to look stylish and classy. Khaki shorts and a white safari blouse are key pieces that will always be in style.

Being yourself is the always in style!
