![]() The New Black?by Maria F. Aldana — May 14, 2008The color gray has been my obsession since last fall, and even with Spring blossoming all around, I still can't get enough of it. Grey doesn't always have to be a somber color. In fashion and interiors, it can actually be the perfect substitute for black. In fact, gray in almost any shade, whether it be pastel or bold, will work as an accent color with most colors -- pink, violet, red, green, or even turquoise. It is a cool and neutral color that can actually enhance your mood if you pair it with a strong accent color. As far as fashion, gray denim is my favorite. There are various shades of gray jeans, and they can be paired with any color. Keeping your outfit monochromatic or adding any color accessory such as a red bag or a pair of red shoes looks put together. From gray handbags to shoes and dresses, there will always be an option to add this color to an outfit. Painting your nails metallic gray and lining your eyes in a dark gray is a great alternative to the classic black eyeliner. Gray is a color that I used to easily ignore, but I gave it a try, and it will never leave my color palette. Comment on this Post
