Need More Vitamin K?

by WiredBerries Editors — August 2, 2008

In this last of the three-part series on necessary nutrients, we'll sing the praises of the oft-overlooked but praise-worthy nutrient vitamin K. This powerhouse allows your blood to clot normally, helps protect against osteoporosis, and prevents oxidative cell damage. You need more of this nutrient if you are experiencing excessive bruising and bleeding, digestive system problems, and liver or gallbladder problems. To get more vitamin K in what you eat, enjoy more spinach, Brussels sprouts, Swiss chard, green beans, asparagus, broccoli, kale, and mustard greens. Very good sources also include green peas and carrots.
