Better Than Table Scraps

by WiredBerries Editors — August 20, 2007

You spend Saturday mornings searching your local farmer’s market for only the best locally grown, pesticide-free ingredients for your meals, but what are you feeding your pets? Canned who-knows-what that came from who-knows-where? Consider sharing the health benefits of organic living with your furry friends. There are many options for organic pet food—fresh, wholesome, human-grade foods that are much better than the cooked mixture of by-products, fillers, and other processed ingredients being served to many unfortunate pets, day after day.

OrganicAuthority.com highlights the top five benefits of natural organic pet food:

  • Reduction of skin ailments and allergies
  • More energy and a healthy weight
  • Fewer digestive disorders
  • Better overall health and stronger immunity
  • Quality of life and longevity

Check out The Honest Kitchen and Eagle Pack for healthier and tastier options for your canine and feline friends.

What people are saying...

It seems that certain ingredients are causing the majority of problems, at least, that is the case with my Golden Retreivers. I avoid any food with corn, chicken by-products and especially poultry digestive products and stick to a lower protein, lamb and rice formula. I supplement the food with home cooked vegetables and cottage cheese.

The expensive, hippie/healthfood type of foods were all too high in protein for my dogs and even the less sensitive dog experienced digestive and skin problems from the so-called "premium" brands.
