Hope for a Conservative Future?

by WiredBerries Editors — October 25, 2007

The Nature Conservancy just announced a deal between the United States and Costa Rica that will ensure long-lasting conservation in the small nation. In this, the largest debt-for-nature swap in history, the US will forgive $26 million in debt owed by Costa Rica. The money will be used by Costa Rica over the next 16 years to finance long-term, science-based forest conservation. One small step toward protecting one of the world's richest natural treasures.
