Carbon Neutral Books?

by WiredBerries Editors — November 2, 2007

Biblio.com, which offers new and used books, has launched a program to offset the carbon emissions of the shipment of every book sold through its site, making it the first major book marketplace in the world to become carbon neutral. To do so, the company partnered with a privately held Native American renewable energy company that provides funding for wind turbines and farm methane energy projects in Native American communities. This project, dubbed ecosend, enables you to order a used book, sparing the trees and ink of a new printing, and receive it via ecosend for an earth-friendly literary treat!
