Message in a Bottle

by WiredBerries Editors — November 26, 2007

Pull out your camcorders! Greenpeace is announcing an exciting new project intended to give us world citizens a chance to send a powerful message to our politicians attending a crucial UN climate change conference coming up in December. Greenpeace has launched a fun, collaborative video project called "Message in a Bottle" and are asking for us "ordinary" citizens to get involved with a powerful punch of creativity and caring. Their video will inspire you, and spark your interest in creating your own short segment.

Salvatore Barbera, director of online promotion for Greenpeace International explained to WiredBerries that, "the aim of the video is to send a clear message with a demand for 'Real Action' to tackle climate change, at the UN meeting taking place in Bali, Indonesia, where governments will agree their next round of emission cuts under the Kyoto Protocol. We are asking people all over the world to submit video responses to 'Message in Bottle' to show delegates that the world is watching them, and expects nothing less than a clear mandate to tackle climate change."

Greenpeace posted a short promo on Youtube that is now accepting video responses. Greenpeace will then edit a selection of the video response submissions to make a final video, which will be delivered to the politicians at the conference. More information about the project and how to contribute is available on their Web site.
