No Flu for You

by WiredBerries Editors — February 25, 2008

Homeopath Today offers simple ways to naturally avoid the flu. They're fairly intuitive, but sometimes a little reminder is all we need to take better care of ourselves:

  • Get plenty of rest and drink enough water
  • Reduce refined sugar in your diet, especially things like soda, candy, and baked goods
  • Increase fruits and vegetables in your diet
  • Continue to get regular exercise -- it helps to keep you healthy by reducing or countering stress, enhancing circulation, and offering another mode of elimination via perspiration
  • Wash hands often, especially before eating
  • If you are feeling run down, try to take a day off, for rest and relaxation

If you do catch the bug, there are many homeopathic ways to help ease your suffering:

  • Take a bath with hot Epsom salts -- Put 2-3 cups of Epsom salt in a warm bath for a good soak; this helps to draw out inflammation and decrease muscle soreness and joint pain
  • Snuggle with a hot water bottle -- This can be a welcome presence when you're chilly and sore
  • Enjoy a gentle massage from a loved one
  • Drink Vitamin C
  • Eat vegetable or chicken broth - Soup will help to replenish electrolytes and has other healing influence
  • Drink ginger or chamomile tea to ease nausea

Be well!
