![]() Water Bottles with New Lifeby WiredBerries Editors — February 5, 2008In an industry first, HP announced it has developed an engineering breakthrough that enables the use of post-consumer recycled plastics in the production of new inkjet print cartridges. More than 200 million cartridges have been manufactured using the process thus far, and HP used more than 5 million pounds of recycled plastic in its inkjet cartridges last year. The company's recycling process combines recycled plastics from multiple sources, such as everyday water bottles, keeping these plastics out of landfills. The company claims to have used enough recycled plastic to fill more than 200 tractor trailers. Comment on this Post
