![]() Watt's Killing You?by WiredBerries Editors — February 21, 2008Being conscious of climate change means being aware of the energy you are consuming. We sometimes tune out the hum of the fridge, the buzz of the living room lamps, and the hum of the toaster without considering the energy they use. But a handy little device can open your eyes to the energy your appliances consume. Simply connect appliances to the Kill A Watt device, and it will assess how efficient they really are. A large LCD display counts consumption by the Killowatt-hour, same as your local utility. You can calculate your electrical expenses by the day, week, month, even an entire year. Also check the quality of your power by monitoring Voltage, Line Frequency, and Power Factor. A handy little way to have an energy-consumption reality check! Comment on this Post
