Little Green Baby Steps

by WiredBerries Editors — March 3, 2008

As with successful weight loss, going green is more sustainable (pun intended) if you make small changes over time. The little things add up to make a big impact, so consider letting green creep into your life a little at a time:

  • Once a week, take the bus, ride your bike, or walk when you would usually drive
  • When you run out of laundry detergent, try an eco-friendly option
  • Replace burned out bulbs with
  • Try one of the fabulous new offerings in the eco-conscious makeup arena (like the new stuff from Stella McCartney)
  • Rather than renew your subscriptions, read your favorite mags at the gym or enjoy them at the library
  • Buy your power from wind (many energy companies offer this option to those who ask)
  • Use cloth napkins (they're classier and look cuter) and real plates rather than paper
  • Wrap gifts in a funny newspaper article or a funky piece of cloth
  • Unplug your phone charger once your phone is charged.

Each step makes you and the planet just a little greener.
