Sting "Fragile"

A perfect complement to Ann McNamee's "Blink of an Eye" is this incredibly beautiful and haunting ballad from Sting: "Lest we forget how fragile we are/On and on the rain will fall/Like tears from a star, like tears from a star." I can listen to this masterpiece over and over and never tire of its message of profound humanity and love.

Silversun Pickups "Checkered Floor" and "Lazy Eye"

We think you'll really enjoy this group's debut album, Carnavas, if you're not already familiar with it. Silversun Pickups is one of my favorite new bands: an L.A. group that's a beautifully laid-back, stripped-down version of Smashing Pumpkins with a more dreamy sensibility. Lean back, pop in your ear buds, and tune into the ethereal keyboards and driving bass grooves...and Aubert's raspy, idiosyncratic vocals!
