The Skinny on The Skinny

hosted by Ann Landi

Melissa Clark, a food writer and a perfect size 2, and her co-author, Robin Aronson, are the authors of a commonsensical diet book subtitled "how to fit into your little black dress forever." Melissa tells us how her eat-what-you-like plan lets you indulge and still shed the pounds.

What people are saying...

In general this is good, not new information, but good information. Small plate idea is good, thirsty verses hungry is well addressed and more true then any of us care to believe. The emotional eating is a big subject, I know for myself, I need very little food, but my little need for food, does not stop me from eating, I am driven or have been driven by how I feel. I have a few guidelines, when I eat, it needs to be colorful, have texture, smell good and my stomach needs to be talking to me, hunger verses boredom, anxiety, if I feel emotional, I look at what I am feeling, before I left the fork.
I eat 80% raw, more possible to be 100% raw in the summer when the weather is warmer. I use coconut oil only to stir fry veggies, olive or Udo's oil on my salads, cayenne pepper lightly to season and to assist digestion, sometimes lemon juice and dulce for a salty taste and a dose of iodine, great for thyroid balance.
I don't know about the size 2 thing, too much focus on the Hollywood celeb thing and skinny model complex. It may be good for selling books, maybe that is the angle, no matter. I prefer to maintain a healthy weight for my height 5'5" 125 pounds and the same size pant for 20 years.
