![]() Necessary Tools for the Kitchenby Laura Donnelly — August 2, 2007For making lemonade, limeade, or juicing lemons for any other purpose, have the fruit at room temperature. Some people even put them in the microwave oven for a few seconds. Rolling them on the counter also helps release the juice. A great tool for maximum juice extraction is a reamer made from wood or ceramic. Cut lemons or limes in half and twist reamer back and forth inside the cut half. Hold over a bowl with a sieve. This fresh citrus juice has so much more vitamin C and flavor than bottled or frozen! You can also freeze juice in little ice cube trays for future use. (I do this for key lime pies).
