How to get reservations at a hot restaurant:

• If you can, show up in person and try to charm whoever is in charge. This really works! Don't be pushy, they get enough of that.
• If you are trying to get through on the phone but the line is busy, try dialing the next digit up from the number you just dialed. Sometimes the phone lines roll over automatically, but sometimes you have to know the next few numbers to get through.
• Last but not least, try to become a regular at your favorite hot spot. They will begin to recognize you and treat you like the "family" member you are!
