Zap Some Quick Dinner

by Laura Donnelly — September 25, 2007

Silly me, I used to be against microwave ovens. I still don't use it very often, except for frozen foods, reheating coffee, or popping popcorn. But sometimes the microwave is an essential tool; you can assemble a vegetarian lasagna in about 10 minutes and cook it in six!

You can get a good microwave oven at a reputable appliance store for $50 nowadays. It's worth it. My favorite microwave trick is heating a brownie or soft cookie for a few seconds before topping it with frozen yogurt. Seems fancy when you serve it, but it is so fast and easy.
