Step Away from the Candy Corn

by WiredBerries Editors — October 31, 2007

Halloween is pretty much based on overindulgence - it kicks off the season of overdoing it. But before you find yourself mindlessly eating peanut butter cups until you finally snap out of your sugar coma and look down at your desk to find an embarrassingly large mountain of wrappers, consider ways to sidestep the ghoulishly green feeling that comes with eating too many treats:

  • Mix nuts and dried fruit (raisins or dried apples, apricots, peaches) with your black-and-orange M&Ms
  • Dip apple slices in peanut butter rather than caramel
  • Skip the unnaturally bright orange popcorn ball and enjoy a handful or two or three of regular popcorn
  • Snarf roasted pumpkin seeds rather than candy corn
  • Invest in a really good piece of dark chocolate and savor it
