Reheating Leftover Pizza

by WiredBerries Readers — February 9, 2007

"If you use a microwave to reheat last night’s pizza," notes Ellen Holmes of Lawrence, KS, "the result is often a mushy crust." Her solution is to slip leftover slices into a skillet, preferably cast iron, that’s been coated with a little olive oil or nonstick spray. Add the pizza, cover, and cook over medium-low heat for three to five minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly. The crusts will come out crisp, and this technique takes less time than using the oven.

What people are saying...

I will most likely still choose to use my toaster oven to render the crusts of left-over and frozen foods (such as pizza) crispy after microwaving to thaw them, but if I ever have left-over pizza on a camping trip or during a power outage I will remember this handy tip.

Great idea!!! We live in the country and often bring home pizza from our favorite restaurant - this worked perfectly! Thanks! Amy
