![]() Reheating Leftover Pizzaby WiredBerries Readers — February 9, 2007"If you use a microwave to reheat last night’s pizza," notes Ellen Holmes of Lawrence, KS, "the result is often a mushy crust." Her solution is to slip leftover slices into a skillet, preferably cast iron, that’s been coated with a little olive oil or nonstick spray. Add the pizza, cover, and cook over medium-low heat for three to five minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly. The crusts will come out crisp, and this technique takes less time than using the oven.

I will most likely still choose to use my toaster oven to render the crusts of left-over and frozen foods (such as pizza) crispy after microwaving to thaw them, but if I ever have left-over pizza on a camping trip or during a power outage I will remember this handy tip. Great idea!!! We live in the country and often bring home pizza from our favorite restaurant - this worked perfectly! Thanks! Amy Comment on this Post
