![]() Softening Brown Sugarby WiredBerries Readers — February 14, 2007To keep brown sugar moist, advises Heather Long of Pittsburgh, PA, store it in an airtight container with a whole orange, lemon, or lime. If the sugar does turn hard, she adds, you can place it in the microwave with a slice of soft white bread or an apple wedge. Cover the container tightly and microwave at 100 percent power for 30 seconds. Discard the bread or apple and stir.
