Toilet Troubleshooting

by WiredBerries Readers — February 28, 2007

"Who doesn't dread the all-too-frequent ordeal of plunging a clogged toilet?" asks Courtney Pillsbury, who lives in the desert climate of Santa Fe, New Mexico, where low-flow toilets that tend to plug up twice as quickly are the standard. She's discovered that a bottle of inexpensive dishwashing liquid usually solves the problem. "After emptying the full contents into the bowl (your average bottle weighs approximately 28 ounces, give or take), add three cups of hot water. Allow the degreasing action of the soap to initiate for 30 minutes, and you'll be surprised at how quickly your toilet unclogs."

What people are saying...
