High-Protein Fruit Smoothie

by WiredBerries Readers — March 6, 2007

Our smoothie of the week is adapted from the Wild Oats website and is chock-full of protein and fiber.

1 scoop organic whey or soy protein powder
1/2 cup pure blueberry juice
1/2 banana, cut in chunks
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/3 cup nonfat plain dairy or soy yogurt
1 Tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix all ingredients in a blender and whir until smooth. You can replace the blueberries with 1/2 fresh mango or papaya or frozen tropical fruits, and replace the juice with pomegranate or cranberry juices. Serves one generously.
